Vins
Charlott Weise
In addition to Fins, the edition is complemented by a counterpart: Vins. This piece depicts the reverse side of the Atargatis coin, portraying Demetrius III, thereby extending the mythic circuit initiated by Fins. Instead of a champagne bottle, two champagne flutes are held in place beneath a gauzed mesh, capturing a cheering moment (of celebration). Alongside them a shell hangs from a string, retrieved from the seas off Thessaloniki, serving as an emblem of tide and passage.
Proceeds from this edition support the forthcoming artist’s book ‘Damse Vinne, a poetic exploration of metamorphosis told through the image of the fish tail, to be published with Building Fictions in 2026.
