The work develops as a series of poetic reflections endeavouring to narrate the discomfort of the self together with its own unraveling, by alternating narratives of ephemeral sentimental grieving with niche descriptions of the daily.

In Ode to a Sad Boy, Francesca Flora experiments with the parallel yet intersected tension between collective and individual affective experiences attempting to unhinge the binds of sentimental superiority, by becoming relatable through the juxtaposition of infantile poetic story-telling and deep dives that question sorrow and belonging.
