II magazine
II Magazine is a new art magazine founded by Paint It Black, an artistic processing center in Turin. The magazine explores the relationship between performing arts and print media in an innovative way. Theater and performance become pretexts for representing avant-garde forms of art on paper in an exhaustive and fascinating way, with texts and images that make this magazine a promising project in the arid panorama of the performing arts.
II Magazine Issue#0 is curated by VEGA, the artist duo composed of Francesca Pionati and Tommaso Arnaldi, and by the graphic designer Nicolò Pellarin, with the research contribution of Lisa Andreani. Conceived as the second act of Initiatives of II, a Roman collective founded in 2019 by curator Lisa Andreani, VEGA and Nicolò Pellarin, this issue of II Magazine presents itself as an investigation into the theoretical, poetic and factual connections that the different editorial practices have with the idea(s) of performance, taking on the task of translating performativity into the vocabulary of printed matter through the work of 25 international artists, authors, researchers and curators.
