Michela de Mattei, with Palm Wine, presents Hydromantique (Tilikum): an underwater listening session
Hydromantique (Tilikum) is an underwater listening session for eight underwater speakers. For this iteration, the sound was developed in collaboration with Palm Wine and consists of a 30-minute sequence of audio materials assembled into a loose narrative structure, combining underwater stories, spoken words, and fragments from diverse musical repertoires.
Taking place at Terme di Premia, Hydromantique is one of the opening events of Nextones 2025, an international music festival promoting sonic and landscape explorations in the territory of Val D’Ossola. It will first occur as a live performance on Thursday 17th July, and will be a temporary installation with regular playback sessions throughout the festival.
