Gernot Wieland’s film, Bird in Italian is Uccello (2021), features in the 24th edition of the Festival des Cinémas Différents et Expérimentaux de Paris.

Bird in Italian is Uccello continues Gernot’s interest in psychological states and the constitution of belonging in different social contexts. Drawing inspiration from Daphne du Maurier’s short story, The Birds, and its subsequent film adaptation, Gernot’s film (re)sets a theatrical production of the horror thriller.

The film will be screened on Saturday 15 October, as part of the competitions #6 programme (9:45-11:00 pm).
