Alfabet
Belmacz is delighted to announce Camilla Løw’s second solo show at the gallery.
Coinciding with Løw’s forthcoming publication outdoors utendørs, the exhibition introduces the idea of transferral — outdoor sculpture elements within an enclosed space. The show title refers to the book by Danish poet Inger Christensen (1935 – 2009), where each chapter represents a single letter. With this system the artist follows a self-imposed order, simultaneously gaining a sense of release. Just as each of Christensen’s poems are formed from symbols and associations, letters enable Løw.
Walking through Alfabet gives a possibility to submerge into optical structures and the coded vortex of language. The viewer is able to interact with, and counter pose a polyhedral structure which incorporates a chess board with its figures.
Suspended sculptures give the notion of movement — circumventing ordinary sequences and ratios whereby steel, aluminium and bronze achieve effortless subtlety.
