Guilherme Dable

 

Guilherme Dable was born in 1976 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He graduated with a MFA in Visual Arts, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul Art Institute, Porto Alegre in 2012. Recent solo exhibitions include The Radio Was Always On In The Kitchen, Belmacz, London (2016), One enormous drawing, UFCSPA Foundation, Porto Alegre (2015), Things that won't take you nowhere are of great importance, Gestual Gallery, Porto Alegre, The News, Visual Arts State Institute, Porto Alegre, From this place between noon and two in the afternoon, Roberto Alban Gallery, Salvador (2014), Latents, Sala Recife, Recife, Alibis, detours and Freudian slips, Eduardo Fernandes Gallery, São Paulo. Group exhibitions include Fictions, Caixa Cultural, Rio de Janeiro (2015), The Nutcracker, Belmacz, London, Repentista #1, Gallery Nosco, London, Bar for the Future, Belmacz, London, Secret Garden, NARS Foundation, New York, Contructive Voluptuousness: pleasure and order on works on paper at the collection, Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto Alegre, New Acquisitions Marcantonio Vilaça Award, Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro (2014).  Guilherme's films The Tamer and The radio was always on in the kitchen are part of Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro’s permanent collection, 2016. He was an artist-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center, United States, in 2015. Guilherme lives and works in Porto Alegre.
